Below is a template for your mini reports. These are not meant to be formal, researched reports. In fact, the only research I want you to do is to play with the tools. I do not want you to look up the meaning of 'wiki' on the Internet and copy (plagiarize) something. I want you to:
  1. Actually use the software you are reviewing. Spend at at least two hours getting your hands dirty with the software. Play with it. Try to make something, then throw it away and make something else.
  2. Think about your experience interacting with the software. Was it easy? Difficult? Fun? Frustrating? Educational? How would you like using it as a student? As a teacher?
  3. Complete your mini report as best you can. There are no right or wrong conclusions for these mini reports. Their purpose is to show me that you have explored these tools and evaluated them.
  4. I do not have a 'word limit' for these reports. You have to use enough words to express your points. You have to show me that you have spent time with each tool and evaluated it.

Tool: The title should reflect the CMC evaluated (wiki, podcast, etc.)

Software used

Simply list the websites, software, or services used. This does not have to be in paragraph form. For example, if you explored wikis, simply list the wiki services used (pbworks, wikispaces, etc.)

Strengths

This can either be in list or paragraph form. Simply describe the useful qualities of the software as you see them.

Weaknesses

This can be in list or paragraph form.

Technical issues for teachers and students

What, if any, are the technical issues regarding this software? Will most people have the technical skills to use it? Will school computers be able to use it? Will the school network be fast enough to use it? Will students be able to use it at home? What special software does the client (user's computer) need to use this software? For example, if it uses Java, the user's computer must have Java installed. If it uses Flash, clients must have Flash.

This section will probably need to be done in paragraph form, but depending on the tool review, a list may be OK.

Possible uses (be creative!)

Think of new, creative uses for your tool! THINK!
